Your Fabric Face Mask Needs These Features, According to the CDC

Your Fabric Face Mask Needs These Features, According to the CDC More than 20 U.S. states, including New York and New Jersey, require masks in public settings.

Guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) say your mask needs six elements: 1.

Ties or ear loops should adequately secure it over your face.

2.

Your mouth and nose need to be covered.

3.

Breathing should not be an issue.

4.

The mask should fit comfortably and also be snug.

5.

It should not be altered or destroyed by washing and drying.

6.

The cover should have more than one layer of fabric.

While masks won't completely protect you, the CDC says they do help stop COVID-19's spread.

In public areas, the agency adds that anyone over the age of two should cover their face.
