Assam CM visits Kaziranga National Park battered by floods

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on July 16 visited the flood affected areas of Kaziranga National Park to take stock of the situation.

P Sivakumar, Director of Kaziranga National Park, on July 15 said that at least 66 animals had died after the forest area was flooded.

"The staff of the national park are committted towards the safety of the animals here.

So far, more than 80 people have lost their lives due to flood, erosion and landslides in the state," Sonowal said during his visit.

Floods have battered the north-eastern state with more than 35 lakh people being affected.
