Amie Gleason Joins Delphi Athletics

Gleason is a former two-sport college athlete and also spent time at Carroll as an assistant

Delphi athletics welcomed three new head coaches at the beginning of the summer we met coach m from football and austin cowley the new leader of oracle basketball... now meet amie gleason.... the california native was the first athlete at houghton college in new york to make the trip to a national tournament in two sports ... basketball and volleyball ..

And she did it during the same season back in the fall of 1998 and spring of 99.

Gleason says she'll use her multi-sport athletic experience to give delphi's student athletes a new perspective.

Amie gleason: i grew up in northern california and played high school volleyball out there and then just fortunate enough through a bketball scholarship to houghton and they said 'oh!

You play volleyball as well?'

And i said 'yeah' 'well do you think you could do both, basketball and volleyball?'

And so i was like yeah.

I'll give it a shot.

I only get them for a short amount of time.

I want them to play multiple sports because it kind of rounds them out as a person because they all bring different things to the table.

When they're with me we're gonna try to get as much as we can for those hour and a half two hours that they're with me so then they can go onto be successful.

I also hope that i can teach them to just roll with the punches a little bit better.
