JP2 senior heads west

Heading west to play basketball at a university known for hanging championship banners in their gyms. the jp2 senior signs with oklahoma city university.

Making his childhood dreams a reality.

Pkg: before nick bonifay could even sign up for rec league, he was practicing hoops.

"my first word was ball, my first toy was the little tykes basketball hoop."

He's upgraded from the living room, to playing basketball year round on travel teams and for jp2, bonifay's work paid off.

He's college bound to play for oklahoma city university, a program with a lot of history.

"men's and women's program have the most conference championships in naia history so thats pretty cool."

Bonifay won some hardware of his own playing four years for the falcons.

This past season jp2 won their region.

The sklills he learned in high school will follow bonifay to the next level.

"hardwork, teamwork, accountability, discipline."

We are thinking way ahead here, but even after college bonifay wants basketball to be in his life.

He's pursuing a business management degree in hopes of opening a gym one day to develop young athletes who have dreams of playing college basketball too.

"helping young kids get better and give back to the community."

Ll: this school is perfect for bonifay because whenever he isn't practicing or playing games, he can drive over to watch the oklahoma city thunder play.

He says he arena is just right up the road.
