Many people are still looking for jobs in the middle of this pandemic.... in this weeks skilled to work -- wtva's sydney darden takes a look how one school is offering a variety of training sessions to get people new skills as they re enter the workforce.... as the job market continues to take a hit throughout the pandemic, the careers path program at itawamba community college, continues to train students for success.

Sot- josh gammill, pathway coordinator "what we're really focused on is finding programs that individuals can come participate in.

" programs can range anywhere from a nursing and other medical assistants to engine repair and hvac technicians.

While fields require two years, other certifications can be earned in a matter of months.

Sot- josh gammill, pathway coordinator- "the idea is that they get their certificate of completion, and at that point once they're done, they'll either be ready to enter the workforce and go get a job that is ideally going to have pretty sustainable wages."

And while keeping pandemic friendly options in mind, some of pathways have gone virtual.

Sot- "forklift operator training, scissor lift training, a few of those.

We call it a hybrid class.

((butted)) sot- "you learn the basics and the safety online and then come in and learn how to operate it in person."

And other programs jump straight from the computer to the real world, offering students the chance to get hands on experience in their field.
