India opens space sector for private players as Union Cabinet clears proposal
Union Cabinet approved opening up of space sector to private players.
The move had been announced earlier as part of Covid economic package.
The decision was compared to power sector reform by Vajpayee govt.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that the new institution will provide level playing field for part-private firms to use Indian infra.
