Man installs ingenious contactless bell to protect devotees at Hindu temple

An Indian man has invented an ingenious system so that devotees at a Hindu temple can continue to ring a bell without actually touching it and cut the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Nahru Khan installed a sensor beneath the bell at Pashupati Nath temple in Madhya Pradesh which when triggered by visitors powers a motor which then pulls the bell chord.

"I thought there should be a way for devotees to able to ring the bell during the pandemic without touching it," Khan said.

"Devotees are very happy to ring the bell," he added.

Hindus ring a bell after entering the temple to reach out to god.
