NYC mayor: 'The National Guard should not be brought here'

After another night of looting and protests in New York City following the death of George Floyd, Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Tuesday that the National Guard should not be brought to the city.

"So I just want to put down the marker, the National Guard should not be brought here, we have 36,000 police officers.

They are the best equipped to deal with the situation..." de Blasio said.

Images from overnight showed looters breaking into several retail and luxury stores after another day of protests across the city that led to many arrests.
