Boatmen in Kochi seek financial support from government

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had informed that the south west monsoon will arrive in Kerala by June 1st week.

Following which, Kerala government had announced the ban on fishing of Kerala coast and in south east Arabian sea.

Boat owners request the government to reduce the time period of fishing ban and also seek financial support.

Amid coronavirus-induced lockdown, boats at Vypin harbour and Vypin-Munambam area are in derelict from last 65 days.

Employers and employees in the fisheries sector have been hit badly.
