Kind couple hand out snacks stuck to their 'community pantry' car during COVID-19 pandemic

Heartwarming footage shows residents using a community pantry car - with snacks stuck to the outside to hand out during the coronavirus pandemic.

Mechanic Thawan Tomkham and his wife Benjamas Sriratchawang said they were inspired by the community pantries springing up around Thailand amid the COVID-19 hardship.

Thawan said he believes that people in rural areas needed food donations during the difficult period but they have no access to the pantries.

The kind couple decided to make a mobile pantry to bring the goods to struggling residents in Ubon Ratchathani province.

Footage shows youngsters collecting the bags of crisps and other snacks which had been stuck on the white Suzuki.

The husband said: "We have not planned how long we will keep doing this, but initially we wanted to do it until our budget runs out.

"However, if the people are willing to donate food we are also happy to take the trip to hand out the items.''
