Working towards peace as military observer has been a life changing experience: Major Suman Gawani

Major Suman Gawani, an Indian Army officer and woman peacekeeper, who has served with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), has been selected for the prestigious United Nations Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award (2019).

Speaking on this, Major Suman said, "South Sudan is a beautiful country and the people are equally amazing, working towards peace as a military observer has been a life changing experience.

I would like to say we are the change that we want and we are the ones we were waiting for."
