North Indian states are witnessing a high rise in mercury during summers.

Delhiites are facing a tough time beating the heat.

People in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur are suggested not to go out in the sun.

Locals opted to stay indoors in Prayagraj due to scorching heat.

The temperature will continue to rise in the next 5 days as well.

While speaking to ANI, a scientist of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Dr Naresh Kumar said, "Temperatures will continue to rise in Punjab, Haryana, southern Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh." "In the next 5 days, these areas will see heat wave to severe heat wave, temperatures could touch 47 degree Celsius at some places," he added.
