Eid rush missing from Kerala's Kozhikode market as business hit by COVID-19 lockdown

The impact of coronavirus lockdown has adversely affected businesses of various shopkeepers in Kerala's Kozhikode.

They are bearing losses in their business ahead of Eid festival.

People in less numbers were seen making purchases at SM street market in Kozhikode.

Shopkeepers are complaining of getting very fewer customers due to COVID-19 lockdown.

While speaking to ANI, one of the shop owners, Syed said, "We have lost almost 90% of our business due to coronavirus lockdown.

There are fewer footfalls now.

Even though Eid festival is around the corner, there are only 10% sales due to COVID." There are 732 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Kerala.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total COVID-19 active cases are 69,597 and 3720 deaths in India.
