VE Day commemorations explained

VE Day marked the end of the Second World War on May 8 1945.

People danced in the streets and celebrated the victory.

Commemorations for this year's 75th Anniversary have had to be scaled back due to the current crisis.

But the Queen will still give a message and people are being encouraged to celebrate at home.
