Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has warned the Olympics and Paralympic Games will be impossible to hold in the country until it's proven to be safe for everyone.

The International Olympic Committee and the Japanese government took the decision to postpone the Games last month for a year until July 2021 because of the health risks for athletes and spectators.

Abe referenced what he called hosting a "complete games" which would rule out having the events in empty stadiums and arenas With the epidemic's worldwide infection rate climbing and experts suggesting a vaccine is still a long way off, questions are being asked about whether the huge setpiece event might need to be delayed further.
