Trump Widens Circle Of Blame For Pandemic To Include Experts Who Warned Him Months Ago

The US passed a milestone on Tuesday of one million confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19.

When asked about it in a press briefing, President Donald Trump was quick to blame public health experts.

According to Business Insider, Trump claimed there were "very good experts" who predicted the novel coronavirus "would never affect the United States." However, dozens of public health officials warned Trump and his administration early on of a US outbreak that would severely disrupt daily life.

Intelligence officials and Obama administration aides also repeatedly sounded the alarm about an impending pandemic.

Nevertheless, Trump took no action until weeks after the virus gained a foothold in the US.
