On Day 8 of lockdown, traffic jam in Chennai, crowded market in Mumbai

Despite a nationwide lockdown, heavy crowds were seen in metropolises like Chennai and Mumbai.

In Tamil Nadu's capital, heavy traffic was witnessed at the Padi flyover even as the police tried to screen commuters.

Some violators of the lockdown were made to do squats by the police.

Meanwhile, at the Dadar vegetable market in Maharashtra's Mumbai, people apparently ignored social distancing advice.

Maharashtra is the worse affected state in India due to Covid-19.
