Flu And COVID-19 Pose Threat As Winter Ends

The influenza virus has taken a backseat to COVID-19 in response to the global outbreak.

According to a new report, however, the flu is still something we need to watch for and be aware of.

New research shows there was an uptick in cases of influenza across the US during the week ending March 21.

According to UPI, an estimated 1 million Americans were infected with the influenza virus.

The new cases bring the total for the 2019-20 flu season to an estimated 39 million people.

The CDC noted that it is possible the number of influenza cases have been skewed by the new coronavirus pandemic.

The US currently has over 96,000 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus, with a death toll of 1477.
