Bored dad posts hilarious 'Coughin' all over the world' parody

A bored dad stuck at home because of coronavirus has become an online star after his hilarious 'Coughin' all over the world' song went viral.Steve Edwards, 45, penned his tongue-in-cheek version of the Status Quo hit 'Rockin all over the world' to help cheer up his family and friends.His lyrics include: "Oh here we are and here we are and here we go, in isolation and I've got no bog roll, working from home, cos they're coughin' all over the world."He posted a video of himself singing the song on YouTube and within hours thousands of people shared and viewed it across the world.The design draftsman said: "It's a very British thing to try and find the funny side of something, no matter how awful it is."I had been watching the news and was thoroughly depressed by what was happening so I went for a walk with the dog."While I was walking I just started humming Status Quo's 'Rockin all over the world' and the lyrics came to me."I rushed home and within 45 minutes had the verses and chorus sorted. "I thought I'd post the sone on YouTube to cheer my friends and family up but the song suddenly got picked up by everyone."I've been inundated with comments which is lovely. "I just wanted to do something to show that whatever happens we've still got a sense of humour and the best way to fight something is to take the p*** out of it."Steve is married to Bryony, 45, who is a nurse at the local hospital and is testing people for the coronavirus.He is currently working from home in the Welsh village of Guilsfield, while looking after their two children, son Alex, 17, and 13-year-old daughter Katherine.Steve added: "Everyone is so serious, so depressed and worried about it.

I want to try to raise a smile a little bit.He said: "I've done a few over the years, but this one's really taking off. "It's one of those things where it's gone a little bit further than I thought it would have done."I wanted to get a couple of funny lines in there, but it was important in the last verse that I mention washing your hands. "I can't really keep that advice out."
