Note on door claims Taylor's bar 'closed forever'

Today, state regulators plan to make sure a controversial college bar in eugene is no longer serving alcohol.

We first told you last week about taylor's bar and grill losing their liquor license.

The o-l-c-c made that decision after dozens of violations there in less than two years.

Kezi 9 news reporter jacob roberts is live outside the bar on 13th avenue.

Jacob, that sign behind you says no shirt, no shoes.

No service.

And now they can add, no alcohol.

We have learned that the owner of taylors was aware of problems at his business and was trying to turn things around...before their liquor license was revoked last week.

Technically, the bar can sell alcohol until seven o'clock this morning.

However, the business doesn't open until 11:30 a-m, meaning taylor's has likely served its last drink.

State regulators yanked the bar's liquor license after what they call a history of serious and persistent problems. last week before the decision was handed down, taylor's owner ramzy hattar defended his business before liquor control commissioners.

He said he was working to distance taylor's from its problematic past.

I know that i am the most responsible owner that's ever owned it, in that 100 years.

In the two years i've owned it, i know i'm the most responsible owner.

And i take pride in that the o-l-c-c says 42 violations in less than 2 years was enough evidence for taylor's to lose its license.

Most of the incidents involved violence... fighting... and excessive intoxication.

The future of taylor's remains unclear.

Hattar has given little indication if he plans to continue to run the business without a liquor license.
