A video, filmed by a marathon runner Henry Pearce, shows athletes struggling to run along a muddy trail while the English National Cross Country Championships in Nottingham last Saturday (February 22).

"Conditions were especially treacherous this year given storm Ciara and Dennis which have recently passed, so this year's race was considered incredibly tough," Pearce, who took part at the competition last year, told Reuters.
