Northern Ireland Secretary refuses to be drawn on prosecutions of ex-soldiers

Northern Ireland Secretary Brandon Lewis has declined to say whether Londonderry prosecutors can be trusted not to take “vexatious” cases against military veterans of the Troubles, during his first trip to the area in his new role.

The Government is under pressure to halt re-investigations of soldiers' actions during the Troubles, amid claims they are being subjected to a "witch-hunt".
