Very funky baby sea lion waddles adorably to the ocean

The Galapagos Islands are one of the most incredible places on earth.

The animals are fascinating and entertaining.

Perhaps the most entertaining of all of them are the sea lions.

They are aptly named "sea dogs" because they more closely resemble our canine friends in facial appearance and personality than any other creature.

This adorable youngster was out for a stroll on the sidewalk near the shore.

Knowing the way to the water, he waddled along as if in time to a funky musical tune that only he could hear.

Sea lions use their flippers much like awkward feet, swinging their bodies from side to side comically to make up for the fact that they don't have knees or ankles that would make land travel much easier.

After a little distance, they stop to rest, as this one does.

Seemingly aware that he's a funny character, he throws back his head as if chuckling as he takes a break.

It's also possible that he's responding to the adoring looks that he's getting from the tourists.

Few things are as cute as a baby sea lion.

As if he's had enough time to catch his breath, he begins to waddle again, reaching the stairs and heading down clumsily to the ocean.

He plops into the water and suddenly his movements are incredibly graceful in contrast to the first part of his journey.

As he pushes off of the concrete step, we see just how easily he glides out toward deeper water with a few subtle flipper strokes.

This funky little sea lion will probably never realize that he's captured so many hearts with his short trip to the sea.
