New England Confectionary Company shuttered its business in 2018.

The company was purchased at auction but quickly sold to Spangler Candy just months later.

The back and forth transactions made Sweethearts production impossible last year.

While they're back for 2020, Spangler reps say the availability of the popular candy is in limited supply.

The best place to find Sweethearts candy this year will be on CVS and Walgreens candy shelves.
