Proof of religion to be required for refuge under Citizenship Act| OneIndia News

Reports quoting sources say that those applying for citizenship under the amended citizenship law will have to prove their religious affiliation before their papers can be processed for benefits under CAA.

The Citizenship Amendment Act fast-tracks citizenship for persecuted minorities from neighbouring theocratic countries.

Those who come under the benefits of the Act are Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis and Christians.
