US and China Reveal Details of 'Phase One' Trade Deal

U.S. and China Reveal Details of 'Phase One' Trade Deal The limited trade deal was formally signed by President Donald Trump and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He at the White House.

President Trump, via 'USA Today' Chinese President Xi Jinping, Statement The deal indicates a break from the trade war between the two nations that has lasted nearly two years.

Under the deal, China commits to a boost of more than $200 billion in the purchase of U.S. services and goods over the next two years.

China will also address U.S. concerns that it extorts technology secrets from U.S. companies.

Critics of the deal say it "is largely a deal on Chinese terms." David Rothkopf, Trade Official, via 'USA Today' President Trump will travel to China once unaddressed trade issues have been negotiated.
