Logan High School teacher receives 2019 outstanding biology teacher award

A la crosse logan high school teacher is named 2019 outstanding biology teacher award winner for wisconsin.

Tom kammer is a biology and health science academy teacher at logan high school in la crosse.

Tom received his bachelor of science and masters degree from uw-la crosse.

He has been teaching at logan for 37 years.

Tom also serves as chair of the science department at logan high school and is head coach of the boy's soccer team and the head coach of the girl's track and field team.

"i have been at logan for 37 years, i'm in my 37th year right now.

It's such a family atmosphere here.

I'm excited every day to be here, i mean after 37 years i'm not wearing out, i still look forward to being here every day.

We have a lot of teachers here who really dedicate their lives to these students and the students respond."

Kammer began teaching at la crosse logan senior high school and has taught everything science from introductory biology to a-p biology to environmental science to principals of engineering.
