So it is a tight race at the top of the big ten west - with minnesota at the top.

We'll get to them in a bit, but for second place - deadlocked between wisconsin and iowa... so stakes were high today, along with the prize of the heartland trophy, which has been making its home here in madison for the last three years... we pick it up in the 2q - jack coan hands it off to danny davis!

17 yards and a dive and wisconsin is good for six... badgers take the 7-3 lead... the defense holding the hawkeyes to a field goal - and then, the same duo - except going with the position on the roster this time - coan to davis for the four yard score!

14-6 wisconsin... the receiver core really showing up today - 3q - coan airs it out to quintez cephus - a 52 yard completion..

Two plays later - coan to cephus again - this time for a touchdown!

21-6 wisconsin..

This one got close at the end..

But the badgers hang on to win..

And the heartland trophy getting comfortable in madison!

(quintez cephus) we talked about having a good bye week.

Taking advantage of the time we had to get better.

We did that.

It led to a good week of practice.

We were able to do some good things.

(jay) the wisconsin offensive line bounced back from subpar efforts against illinois and ohio st.

(jonathan taylor) i wanted to be more patient and allow those guys to get up to the next level.

I think we did a good job of doing that today.

Two point game, four minutes, you gotta make sure that you're on.

That you're moving those chains.

(paul chryst) every day he comes and you know you're going to get his best.

I think it effects everyone around him.

(jay) when asked if he was going to root for iowa against minnesota, paul chryst laughed and said "i'm just going to worry about us."

Sigout jonthan taylor with 250 yards on the ground - second time this season that he's rushed for more than 200 yards.

Next week - off to nebraska!

That game will
