Trump's Appearance In Historically Black College Throws Off Democratic Plans

President Donald Trump recently visited Benedict College, a historically black institution.

According to Politico, the visit overshadowed plans for Democrats to have a town hall-style forum on criminal justice.

Yet with Trump’s visit it seemed more about himself than the issues they wanted to talk about.

President of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators said it “gave Trump too much airtime.” Sen.

Kamala Harris at first threatened to boycott the forum until Trump was removed as a sponsor but ended up participating.
