Former Wisconsin airman resentenced in double homicide case

A former senior airman from southwest Wisconsin has been spared the death penalty for a second time on a double homicide conviction and will instead spend the rest of his life behind bars.

An airman from our area initially sentenced to death for a double homicide a decade ago will instead spend the rest of his life in prison.

A military panel re- sentenced aquinas high school graduate andrew witt last month in connection to the deaths of a fellow airman and his wife... this time to life in prison without parole.

The 36-year- old was found guilty and sentenced to death for the murders that happened in 2005.

A military appeals court overturned the ruling in 2016 and sent it back to the lower courts.
