The orders for them... if a person is in the country illegally... when it comes to deportation, the government will prioritize people who are.... charged with a criminal offense.

Who have committed acts that constitute a chargeable criminal offense.

Have abused any program related to the receipt of public benefits.

And... a wide and broad category.... people who are a risk to public safety or national security, in the judgement of an immigration officer.

Other categories are included in there as well.

Effective right away... an immigration attorney tells us this new criteria will start affecting people in the valley.

Garcia - immigration attorney "i think all of our community is going to be affected.

I think every single individual that is undocumented in our community runs the risk of being detained based on the language in this executive order."

With trump's new order to the department of homeland security is also instructed to do much more... including penalties to cities that do not honor federal immigration detainers... and orders to allow state and local officers to act as immigration officers... strong changes... that are implemented immediately.
