U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in the UAE from Saudi Arabia on Thursday for talks with Abu Dhabi's crown prince, as tensions grew between America and its Gulf allies and Iran.

Mike Pompeo is calling the attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities a quote, "act of war." The U.S. Secretary of State landed in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday (September 19), ready to talk possible retaliation with America's Gulf allies.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE, MIKE POMPEO, SAYING: "I think it's abundantly clear and there is an enormous consensus in the region that we know precisely who conducted these attacks was Iran.

I didn't hear anybody in the region who doubted that for a single moment." U.S. President Donald Trump is taking a more cautious approach, though.

Both the U.S. and Saudi Arabia blame the attacks on Iran, but Trump says there are many options short of war.

He has, however, vowed more sanctions on Iran.

Iran denies involvement in the attacks and has warned Washington against being dragged into all-out conflict in the Middle East.

Its foreign minister told CNN Iran "won't blink" if it has to defend itself against any U.S. or Saudi military strike.

Initially, Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen claimed they were responsible.

The comments came a day after Saudi Arabia unveiled what the claimed to be 'undeniable' evidence that Iran was behind last weekend's attacks.

The remnants of 25 drones and missiles they say were used in the strike, and came from Iranian soil.
