Candidate for congress held a town hall meeting tonight in utica.

George phillips...from down in the bingahomt area...held the meeting at the delta hotel on genesee street.

Topics discussed included welfare costs, high taxes in new york state and high healthcare costs.

Phillips says he is calling for an end into any investigations into president trump.

" i belive this is a waste of taxpayer time and money.

And we need to focus on nreal issues so i called this town hall, it's the season for town halls for members of congress and i said, i will take questions on any issue except for those on the investigation of president trump.we're calling it the no more trump investigations town hall, and i want to focus on solutions on healthcare, on jobs, on the economy, on welfare to work on the national debt.

"i'm very encouraged to see somebody who thinks that it can be controlled and we can reduce this high level of taxation that we have in new york state."

Phillips is a teacher from the binghamton area.
