(SOUNDBITE) (German) BAYERN MUNICH COACH NIKO KOVAC, SAYING: "Dortmund are stronger compared to last year.

And I think we are of the same opinion about this.

It will be an intense game.

We have been preparing for about three and a half weeks.

Dortmund have had a bit longer.

I am sure it won't all work out as it should and as it needs to be for the rest of the season.

So we have to take that into account a bit.

But it will still be a good game, I think Dortmund will be the main chasers this season.

I also think Leverkusen are a very good team with a great coach, Leipzig were strong last year and are just as strong this year, so it will be interesting.

We are wide awake and have to be wide awake." STORY: Bayern Munich coach Niki Kovac refused to comment on Friday (August 2) as to whether the team had made a bid for Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.

Kovac was speaking at a news conference in Munich on the eve of the German Super Cup between Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and rivals Borussia Dortmund.

Earlier in the week Kovac said he was confident Bayern would sign the 23-year-old Germany winger but then apologised to Manchester City for his comments.

On Thursday (August 1) Bayern Munich released a statement denying Sane had agreed to join the club.

Bayern finished two points ahead of Dortmund to clinch their seventh consecutive Bundesliga title but Kovac believes Dortmund have become stronger over the summer break and that Saturday's match will be intense.
