Iraq Looks To Ease Tensions Amid Rising Fears Of Conflict Between U.S.-Iran

According to a report by Reuters, on Tuesday, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said that Iraq will send delegations to Washington and Tehran to help ease tension amid rising fears of a confrontation between the United States and Iran.

The prime minister reportedly said there were no Iraqi groups that wanted a push towards war, just two days after a rocket fired in Baghdad landed near the US embassy.

Earlier this week, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that any attack on US interests would be met with โ€œgreat force,โ€ and tweeted over the weekend, โ€œIf Iran wants to fight, that will be the official end of Iran.โ€
