Cyclone Fani Delivers Heavy Winds and Rain to Odisha, India

Cyclone Fani delivered punishing rain and winds of up to 185 kilometers per hour as it swept through Odisha state in India on May 3, the county’s national weather service said.

Thousands of people were evacuated from the state before the cyclone made landfall on Thursday.

Cyclone Fani was expected to make its way toward West Bengal, where it would hit as a severe cyclonic storm before moving to Bangladesh, the National Disaster Management Authority said.
