Trump says has not read Mueller report

U.S. President Donald Trump says he has not read Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report on the Russia probe that his Democratic opponents say should be released in full.

Trump says has not read Mueller report

As Washington eagerly awaits more details of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report on the Russia probe… President Trump on Saturday tweeted that he himself has not yet read it…despite having, quote, "every right to do so." He added: "Only know the conclusions, and on the big one, No Collusion." It's been more than two weeks since Mueller wrapped up his probe…looking at Russia's role in the 2016 election…and whether Trump's campaign colluded with Moscow… Now, Attorney General William Barr is working to prepare a REDACTED copy of Mueller's nearly 400-page report for the public…which he has promised to deliver by mid-April… But Democrats in Congress have said they'll settle for nothing less than the FULL REPORT.

UPSOUND In an interview with Fox and Friends Weekend, Trump said THAT DECISION was, quote, "up to the attorney general." Barr's initial four-page summary of Mueller's findings said Trump's campaign had NOT conspired with Russia…but also did not exonerate the president on obstruction of justice… …though Barr himself concluded there was not enough evidence to show Trump committed a crime.

But media reports this week said members of Mueller's team were unhappy with the way Barr - a Trump appointee - had characterized the report's conclusions.

Barr did not meet House Democrats' demand to turn over the full, unredacted report to lawmakers by April 2.

In a letter to Congress, Barr said he is required by law to redact material presented to a grand jury…and must omit details that could reveal U.S. intelligence agencies' sources and methods.

Congressional Democrats have indicated they will fight those redactions in court if the subpoena is ignored.
