White House Rejects Democrats' Demands For Docs On Trump-Putin Discussions

Congressional Democrats’ had demanded documents relating to President Donald Trump’s private discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The White House has rejected these demands, escalating tensions between the Trump administration and Congress.

According to Politico, White House counsel issued a statement saying the committee had "no legal authority for the proposition." White House counsel went on to say “It is settled law that the Constitution entrusts the conduct of foreign relations exclusively to the Executive Branch." The Democratic chairmen have not ruled out the possibility of issuing subpoenas.
