Before Quitting Smoking Using Nicotine Patches Might Not Help
If smokers use nicotine patches four weeks before quitting, there's no sufficient evidence it leads to long-term smoking abstinence.
This is according to researchers from the UK Center for Tobacco and Alcohol Studies.
Researchers found that the process known as "preloading" reduces craving and eases quitting.
But they found that the process doesn't lead to non-smoking several months later, reports UPI.
The study followed 1,792 nicotine-dependent adults from 2012-15.
