In a major development, a Mathura court has allowed a petition demanding the removal of the Shahi Idgah. The Mathura court also allowed the plea to seal the Shahi Idgah Mosque near Krishna Janmabhoomi.

A court in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday allowed for the hearing of a lawsuit demanding the removal of a mosque in Mathura. It is alleged by the petitioners that the mosque is built on the Krishna Janambhoomi or the Birth place of Lord Krishna. This is the third of the many controversies that have come to light in the recent years starting with the Ayodhya Janmbhoomi case to the very recent Gyanvapi mosque controversy.
