Heavy snowfall hits Kashmir and Ladakh, Army put on high alert, five jawans dead

The army troops are put on high alert due to the ongoing situation and their well-rehearsed drills have saved numerous lives and loss to property in the region. Army helicopters of Army Aviation Corps were also pressed into service for examining the situation and helping rescue operation teams deployed in the area.

Army carries pregnant woman through waist-deep snow to hospital in India where she gives birth to healthy baby boy
An Indian Army welfare team, posted in north Kashmir, rescued a local woman with pregnancy-related issues and ensured she reached Baramulla hospital in time to give birth to a healthy baby boy. The footage, recorded on Wednesday (January 15), shows a group of soldiers carrying the woman on a stretcher up-hill through waist-deep snow. Heavy snowfall in Kashmir Valley since Sunday (January 12) has rendered remote areas inaccessible.
