Glamour's Women Of The Year Honorees

On Monday night Glamour kicked off their annual Women of the Year Awards celebration.

According to the Huffington Post, this year they honored women who broke barriers by becoming "the first" in their fields to accomplish their goals. Five women were highlighted at the event.

This included Laverne Cox, the first Emmy nominated transgender woman, Ibtihaj Muhammad, the first Muslim American woman in the Olympics to compete in a hijab, and Ruby Bridges.

She was the first black student to integrate an elementary school in New Orleans..
