MUMBAI: The BJP has filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India against Sanjay Raut for making personal attacks on PM Modi regarding his health.
In a complaint lodged on Thursday, party’s Mumbai unit president Ashish Shelar said Raut at his press conference in Satara said, “Modiji ki baatein mat kijiye ve bimar hain…..ab kaunsi bimari hai kya yeh maansik hai ya kuch sharirik bimari hai….desh ke Pradhan Mantri bahut bimar hain.” (Don’t speak about Modi, he is ill…whether it is mental or physical….the country’s PM is very ill.)
Shelar mentioned in his complaint that Raut's language exceeded the boundaries of decency and breached the Model Code of Conduct, aiming to diminish the Prime Minister's dignity. He requested that Raut refrain from speaking to the media until the 2024 Lok Sabha elections conclude.
He has additionally requested that Raut should be prohibited from making any personal remarks against the Prime Minister until the elections are finished and an FIR should be filed against Raut for breaching the code of conduct.
