PM Modi's offers prayers at Ram temple in Ayodhya, holds roadshow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday offered prayers and held a roadshow at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, for the first time since the consecration of the Ram temple on January 22. During a televised ceremony two days before the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi was seen prostrating before the Ram Lalla idol.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday offered prayers and held a roadshow at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, for the first time since the consecration of the Ram temple on January 22. During a televised ceremony two days before the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi was seen prostrating before the Ram Lalla idol.
The temple's entrance gates were adorned with flowers, including an 'Om' formed with yellow petals and replicas of a bow and arrow made using flowers.According to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Ram Lalla was dressed in a light pink attire.
In a post on X, PM Modi expressed his gratitude to the people of Ayodhya, saying, "The hearts of the people of Ayodhya are as big as Lord Shri Ram. Greetings to the people who came to give blessings in the road show!"
He posted another video on X and wrote, "At Ayodhya, prayed to Prabhu Shri Ram for the well being of my fellow 140 crore Indians."

The Faizabad Lok Sabha seat, which includes the Ayodhya district, will vote in the fifth phase of the elections on May 20.
After offering prayers at the temple, the prime minister embarked on the roadshow, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and the BJP's Faizabad candidate Lallu Singh.
People from various walks of life lined the road as PM Modi's motorcade passed through, with a group of saree-clad women walking in front of the prime minister's vehicle.

The prime minister waved and greeted the people standing on the sides of the road, holding an illuminated lotus, the BJP's election symbol. The roadshow began at the temple's entrance and was set to conclude at the Naya Ghat Road crossing, two kilometres away, a party officials said.
PM Modi had addressed rallies in Etawah and Sitapur earlier in the day.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demonstrated a solid majority in UP in the previous two Lok Sabha polls, gaining the majority of seats and, the BJP has again fielded sitting MP Lallu Singh from Ayodhya for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Ayodhya (Faizabad) Lok Sabha constituency encompasses five Vidhan Sabha constituencies: Ayodhya, Bikapur, Milkipur, Rudauli, and Dariyabad (Barabanki).
