Voter turnout increases by 1.30% in Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, and Kanker

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, voter turnout in the three Parliamentary Constituencies—Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, and Kanker—saw a 1.30% increase compared to the 2019 elections. The combined voter turnout for these constituencies during the second phase of elections on Friday was recorded at 76.24%.

RAIPUR: The voter turnout in the three Parliamentary Constituencies, namely Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, and Kanker, increased by 1.30% in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections compared to the 2019 elections. The overall voter turnout was 76.24% in the mentioned Parliamentary Constituencies that participated in the second phase of elections on Friday.
According to the final data released/published by the Election Commission on Saturday, the voting percentage was 76.24% in the three parliamentary constituencies in 2024, compared to 74.94% in 2019.
The total number of eligible voters in the three parliamentary constituencies in 2024 is 5284938, out of which 4029475 actually cast their votes.
Out of 18,68,021 electors, 14,46,274 voters, which is 77.42% of the total, cast their votes in Rajnandgaon PC. In Mahasamund PC, 13,22,125 voters, accounting for 75.02% of the total 17,62,477 electors, exercised their franchise. Kanker PC saw the highest voter turnout at 76.24%, with 12,61,103 voters out of 16,54,440 electors exercising their right to vote.
Polling took place for the Bastar Parliamentary Constituency on April 19 during the initial phase. A voter turnout of 68.30% was recorded in Bastar.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission is scheduled to conduct voting in the remaining seven Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) of Chhattisgarh, which are scheduled for the polls in the third phase on May seventh. The Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) of Raipur, Korba, Janjgir-Champa, Durg, Bilaspur, Surguja, and Raigarh will go to the polls on May seventh.
