Former Juventus star Darko Kovacevic has insisted he would never sell Dusan Vlahovic if it was up to him but hinted at the level of player Arsenal would be getting if they signed him.

Vlahovic has been on the radar of plenty of Premier League clubs since he was scoring goals for fun in Serie A with Fiorentina. In January 2022, the Serbian striker opted to remain in Italy and join Juve.

Since then, the 24-year-old has continued his strong goalscoring form and has bagged 17 goals in all competitions for the Turin club this season. With Juventus consistently experiencing money worries, Vlahovic is still a player who could be targeted by Mikel Arteta.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Kovacevic gave a rave review of the centre-forward. He said: "If it were only up to me, I would never sell him.

"He is a top-level striker, amongst the best in circulation. But evaluations in football are not made by one person, and we must take into account, in general, many factors."

Arsenal are likely to be on the lookout for a centre-forward come the summer after finding a cutting edge in front of goal hard to come by at times, with sporting director Edu's plan to add to Arteta's forward options clear. The Gunners' striker options are also limited at the moment which will be a concern for Arteta as he hopes to continue adding to a squad which continues to be on the brink of Premier League glory.

Arteta's men had no such trouble in front of goal on Tuesday night though as they demolished Chelsea 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium. Kai Havertz, who has been deployed in the centre-forward position scored twice in the drumming.
