IUML candidate ET Mohammed Basheer won the 2019 General Election with a victory margin of 1,93,273 votes, securing 5,21,824 votes. E. T. Mohammed Basheer defeated P.v. Anvar Puthan Veetil of the IND, who got 3,28,551 votes.
