Ajay Devgn is back to entertaining on the big screen with his horror drama 'Shaitaan'. The film hit the screens on the occasion of Maha Shivratri and recorded a decent opening.
'Shaitaan' earned Rs 14.75 crore on Friday and went on to witness a big jump on Saturday, earning Rs 18.25 crore. The horror drama has managed to earn a total of Rs 33 crore in two days, reports sacnilk.
If the film continues to gather steam over the weekend, then there is a possibility for 'Shaitaan' to record a 50 crore opening weekend number. On Saturday, 'Shaitaan' witnessed an overall occupancy of 33.65 percent.
Directed by Vikas Bahl, 'Shaitaan' is a remake of a Gujarati horror film Vash. Apart form Ajay, the film also stars R Madhavan, Jyothika, Janki Bodiwala and Anngad Raaj.
Post 'Shaitaan', Ajay Devgn will be seen in sports drama 'Maidaan', which will clash with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. Speaking about arriving on the same date, Ajay had shared, "First of all, I’ll not call it a clash. Ideally, two big films shouldn’t release together. Lekin kuch majbooriyan hoti hai. Both films belong to different genres. Hum sab ek family ki tarah hai. Hum dost hai. Hence, we don’t it see as a clash. It’s a big weekend and I am sure both films will do well.”
