KALYAN: In a setback to BJP from Kalyan Lok Sabha in Thane District. In the last one week, two senior former BJP corporator have left the party, one of whom, Rajesh Wankhede, was a BJP candidate in the Ambernath assembly elections in 2014.
With both the leaders leaving the party, questions have now been raised on the leadership of PWD minister Ravindra Chavan.

Both were once considered close to Chavan who controls over handling of BJP's in Kalyan Lok Sabha.
Wankhede, former corporator of BJP from Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation, last week left the party and in presence of Uddhav Thackeray joined his party in Mumbai.
Whereas on Tuesday, former BJP corporator Vikas Mahatre, who lives in Chavan's assembly constituency, along with his wife and two senior party officials resigned from the primary membership of the party.
Mahatre and his wife have been elected many times corporators and Mahatre has also been the Chairman of the Standing Committee of Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation in the past.
Mahatre, while resigning on Tuesday in his resignation letter on Tuesday said, "Despite the BJP government at the Center and the state, he was not able to get any funds to work at the ward level. Due to which many times people used to taunt him in the ward".

Mahatre further wrote that even after informing the senior party leaders no one taken cognizance of his complaint hence he decided to resign from the party's membership. It is said that Mhatre is now days in touch with senior leaders from Shiv Sena (Shinde) faction.
If sources are to be believed, then in Ulhasnagar too, after senior party leaders in state gave the post of district president of BJP to Pradeep Ramchandani, factionalism has started on a large scale in the party here too. Many party's senior leaders are upset after Ramchandani was made the president.
Chavan was not available for comment despite phone calls. However party sources said that these days Ravindra Chavan, apart from the important PWD department minister, holds the post of Guardian Minister of Sindhudurg and Palghar District, due to which he is not able to pay much attention to the Kalyan Loksabha at the local level.
