Fishing boat capsizes near Versova Gaon in Mumbai, one dead, one missing

​​According to officials from the Mumbai fire brigade, the boat sank while the occupants were out fishing.

MUMBAI: A fishing boat carrying three individuals capsized near Versova Gaon, approximately 2km from the seashore late Saturday evening.
Mumbai fire brigade officials reported that the boat sank during a fishing expedition.

One person was able to survive, while the body of one of the missing individuals, Vijay Gohil, has been recovered. Ushaini Bhandary (21) remains missing.
Search operations are currently in progress, conducted by teams from the fire brigade, navy, and local ward-level staff in an effort to find the missing individual.

The incident came to light when a few locals informed the civic authorities that of the three individuals who ventured into the sea for a fishing expedition sometime between 8pm and 9pm on Saturday, only one person returned back so far. He has been identified as Vijay Bamania (35) who is said to have swam to safety after the boat overturned in the rough waters.
The fire brigade and navy teams are scouring the area using ring buoys and ropes, while local fishing boats have also joined the efforts to locate the missing persons.
The search operation is still ongoing, and rescue teams remain hopeful that they will find the missing individuals soon.
